Olis Vallseca · Cooperativa de la Ribera d’Ebre

About us

A hundred and forty families, ninety hectares and a shared mill since 1964.

A cooperative in the Ribera d’Ebre

We are a hundred and forty families with olive groves around Móra d’Ebre, Tivissa and Garcia. Many own a couple of acres; a few own far more. Together that is some ninety hectares of Arbequina and Morruda, much of it on dry-stone terraces too narrow for big machinery — and well suited to doing things slowly.

Why we joined forces

On their own, each household took its olives to whichever mill would have them and sold the oil in bulk to whoever turned up. The shared mill was built in 1964. The idea was simple: if the oil is made properly and sold under its own name, the margin stays here instead of leaking away.

What we do now

We mill only our members’ olives, and only from this district. We bottle to order. We sell through three channels — the mill counter, this shop, and the restaurants and delis that buy by the case — and all three show the same stock, because it is the same warehouse.

The mill

Open Monday to Friday, 9–13 and 16–19, and Saturday mornings. During the harvest, from October to December, we stay open at midday. You are welcome to come and fill your own jug, watch the milling and taste the oil.

Sample cooperative: everything in this shop is fictional and exists to show how GestioERP works.
